Saying "yes!" while on a secluded island off of Maine's stunning southern coastline

This was a day I wish never had to end!

When Rob approached Kyle (my fiancé) and I with the idea to capture his proposal to his now fiancé, Margaret, I basically jumped out of my seat in excitement. He had the ring, knew he didn't want to wait any longer to ask her to be his wife, and just needed the perfect day to ask. What better way than on a sunny summer July day off the coast of Maine. We took some time in the earlier part of the day to explore the waters by boat. Of course there was striper fishing involved.

We stopped at Pepperrell Cove for dinner on Frisbee's Wharf before getting back on the water to watch sunset and find a perfect place to watch the Independence Day Fireworks display from the ocean.

A funny side note; at dinner Margaret had said she wanted to change into her sweatpants before it got chilly... which was a very good point and made complete sense.. so you can imagine how I did trying to convince her it would be "easier" to change later on the boat after sunset.. like.. okay Janay, haha! But, somehow she was convinced and we later laughed about how silly I sounded trying to convince her to wait.

Although it was part of the plan (between Rob, Kyle, and I) all along to stop at Wood Island, Rob had told us earlier in the week that he'd give the cue to stop while we were cruising around after dinner by asking if we have ever been there and if we would be willing to walk around. Kyle was our boat captain for the day and of course he was up for anything!

We docked at Wood Island and started to explore the island by foot.

Kittery Maine, Wood Island

Rob and Margaret walked towards Whaleback Island where he asked her to be his wife!!! Margaret was caught by complete surprise, in the best possible way. She said "yes" with happy tears in her eyes and excitement in her smile.

These two popped champagne down at the dock before getting back onto the boat. SO fun!!

I couldn't stop smiling while they began to FaceTime with family on our way to the fireworks area.

We made it to our fireworks viewpoint where these two continued to sip champagne, enjoy the perfect sunset, and reflected on their special day.
